Guest guide: SKYES BEACH HOUSE

Welcome to Skyes Beach House in Malua Bay.

Welcome to Skyes Beach House

Welcome to Skyes Beach House in Malua Bay. We're so glad you chose to stay with us, and we hope you settle in and feel right at home. This guide has everything you need to know about the house, plus our favourite local places to eat, drink and explore.

Scott always dreamed of having a beach house: a place to escape, relax and make great memories. During the renovations his loyal dog, Skye, kept him company, lounging on the balcony, soaking up the ocean view and watching everyone go by. Malua Bay is now Skye's favourite place, and that is how Skyes Beach House came to be.

If you need anything during your stay, just drop us a message. If you're thinking of coming back, booking directly with us can save you up to 15% by skipping the platform fees.

How to use it

  2. Set the timer to about 60 minutes to warm it up. When you get in, change the timer to the time you want to stay.
  3. Set the temperature you like. The sauna reaches 40°C after about 20 minutes.
  4. For music, press the Bluetooth button and connect your phone. There are lights for ambience too.
  5. Sit on a towel. Stay for 10 to 15 minutes a session, and start shorter if you are new to infrared saunas.
  6. When you finish, turn the sauna off, take your towel and wipe any sweat off the seating.

Safety

If the sauna is left in an unreasonable state, or damaged, the cost of extra cleaning, a technician, repair or replacement is charged to the guest.

There is a trampoline in the backyard play area. It is best for children aged 5 and up, takes up to 250 kg in total (160 kg per person), and no more than 4 people should be on it at once. That is up to two adults and two children, as long as the combined weight stays under the limit. No shoes on the trampoline.

Giant Connect 4

The giant Connect 4 set is in the room with the double bunk beds upstairs. Please keep it indoors. Spiders and other insects make it unsuitable to leave outside overnight.

Fruit trees

Fruit trees

Guests are welcome to pick ripe fruit from the trees on the property. Twist or cut fruit gently, don't climb the trees or break branches, and leave some for the next guests.

What fruits and when

Avoid stepping on fallen fruit. Put damaged or overripe fruit in the compost or bins. Supervise children near the trees: the ground is uneven and some branches are low.

Kitchen and coffee

Plates, glasses and kids' tableware

Each level has its own colours. Please keep them on their own level.

Thermomix

Thermomix

The upstairs kitchen has a Thermomix you are welcome to use. It is a delicate and valuable appliance: always lift it with both hands, put it down gently, and don't drag it on the bench (that damages the built-in scales).
